Well Water Testing
Keep your drinking water safe with FREE monthly well testing!
Why get your water tested?
Did you know the EPA recommends that private well owners test their water every year?
Because private wells are largely unregulated, it is up to you to ensure your drinking water is safe from common contaminants like bacteria, viruses, and nitrates.
These contaminants can pose health risks, especially for infants, the elderly, and pregnant individuals, and often originate from nearby fertilizers, septic tanks, or agricultural operations.
To help our community stay healthy, the Cass County Conservation District offers free preliminary well water testing on the last Wednesday and Thursday of every month.

Take a Sample
Let your sink run for exactly two minutes, then fill a clean bottle with your tap water.

Bring your water sample to our CCCD Office, located in the USDA Service Center in Cassopolis.
Our team will test your sample for a variety of indicators, including bacteria, nitrates/nitrites, pH, dissolved oxygen, and salinity. Best of all, CCCD staff members will personally help you interpret the results and recommend any necessary next steps to keep your water safe.
Our next sampling dates are Wednesday, July 29th and Thursday, July 30th.
Future dates are listed in our Events calendar.
